The law of God has a huge function. To stop people from comparing their sins with another and assuming there are worse people than them. The law leaves the whole world guilty before God

Are you there and you are thinking you can be above this rule and have carefully followed and kept all His laws since birth?

The author of the book of Romans which is found in the Bible wrote in His 3rd chapter and section 20 that by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in His sight.

It means if you are made of flesh, you can not be perfect. If you are made of flesh, you will be found with weaknesses, and if you are made of flesh you will err.

The same book of Romans the 7th chapter and section 7 tells us if it wasn't for the institution of the law, no one would know what sin is, so in that regard, the law is not bad.

The author of the book of Galatians the 3rd chapter and section 24 then mentions that the law was our School Master to bring us to a saviour, Christ, the anointed one, that we might be justified by faith.

So in actual fact, the law does not help anyone, but it leaves all flesh helpless and unable to bit the standard of holiness and correctness it sets.

The law leaves us guilty before the judgement bar of a Holy God. The purpose of the law is to show us how much we can not trust in our selves and need total dependability on the Creator.
